BISHOP BRENNAN VISITS OUR LADY OF MERCY FOR MASS AND READ ALOUD

For Immediate Release: March 30, 2026

Bishop Robert Brennan, Bishop of the Diocese of Brooklyn, which includes Queens, celebrated Mass at Our Lady of Mercy in Forest Hills on Friday, March 27, 2026, as part of the 4th Annual Diocesan Lenten Pilgrimage. The pilgrimage invites the faithful to visit a different parish each weekday and Saturday during Lent.

Following Mass, Bishop Brennan participated in the 8th Annual Great Diocesan Read Aloud, reading The Real Presence by Claudia Cangilla McAdam to second-grade students at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Academy.

“Reading a story about the Eucharist to the second graders was a meaningful experience as they prepare for their First Holy Communion. Their energy and curiosity were remarkable, and I was truly impressed by how much they already knew. Both at Mass and in the classroom, they were deeply inspiring, giving me great hope and confidence for the present and future of the Church,” said Bishop Robert Brennan.

The Great Diocesan Read Aloud, sponsored by Catholic Telemedia Network (CTN), a service of DeSales Media, brings guest readers to schools across Brooklyn and Queens during the month of March, which is designated as National Reading Month.
