Is space something that can be sacred? What about art? How can both of these mediums deepen the way we live and worship?

We all have sensed their power in moments when we have been a part of community worship in a beautiful chapel or cathedral, walked into a quiet church and been alone in the silence with God, or sensed God's Spirit in an icon, a painting, or a stained-glass window. So yes, perhaps space and art are sacred. They are channels through which we can see and touch the Mystery of God. They deepen our weekly experiences of worship by sensitizing us to Emmanuel, God among us.

Our commission works to find the most appropriate ways we can incorporate art and architecture into the life of worship within the Diocese.  If you have any suggestions or concerns, please be in touch.
