Among the diocesan efforts to promote mission awareness and spiritual union with mission efforts are The Diocesan Missionary Cooperative Plan and Mission Relief

Because of the many needs of new churches in underdeveloped countries, the Church in the United States invites representatives of foreign missionary dioceses, religious congregations, and lay missionary organizations to make visits to local parishes throughout the summer months.  The representatives speak at a Sunday Mass to share their work and faith experiences.

Through the generous self-giving of many faithful throughout our Diocese, these missionary dioceses and  other evangelical groups received over $334,681 from the Brooklyn Diocese during 2000 to support their ongoing work in in sharing the Gospel.
