Known as the missionary support arm of the Catholic Church, the Pontifical Missions Society in the U.S. is an international ecclesial body based in Rome which has field offices in most dioceses. The most well known mission society in Brooklyn is the Society for the Propagation of the Faith.

In our Diocese this missionary society is most commonly referred to as "the Prop." Our office focuses its work on efforts to educate the local faithful on the importance of Catholic missionary work as well as encourage individuals, families, and parishes to support the ongoing work of the Society through their prayers, financial support, and personal work of evangelization.
