The Immaculate Conception Center is one of the
Diocese of Brooklyn's primary gathering places for facilitation, learning
and reflection. 150,000 people visit the Immaculate Conception Center each
year. From language immersion to lay ministry preparation, adult
continuing education to seminarian instruction, parish retreats to
community civic conferences, the ICC is a lively pastoral center that
exemplifies the Diocese's commitment to the Spirit of Christ.
Each
summer, the Language Institute attracts visitors to Douglaston from around
the country-and world-with its six-week language immersion course. The
Institute embraces the reality of a universal Church within the boundaries
of the Diocese of Brooklyn and beyond, by responding to the need for clear
inter-cultural communication. With its intensive language immersion
program, the Institute teaches religious and lay people languages and
customs that will enable them to reach out to all Catholic populations and
help communicate God's word more clearly and mindfully.
Our
Tenants
Truly a pastoral center, the ICC is a
foundation that guides the flock of the Church in appreciation of her
teachings and in the deepening of the role of ministry-whether on personal
or public level.
- Diocesan Offices exemplify this role and use the
ICC as their base to work with parishioners and clergy on every
level-ranging from the Family Life to Hispanic Ministry to the Tribunal
and Office of Parish Clusters. Visit the Administrative Directory for a
complete directory of Diocesan Offices.
- The Cathedral Seminary reaches out and
offers direction to young men who are called to serve in the priesthood.
This four-year preparatory program serves the Diocese of Brooklyn and
Rockville Center. Here men come to pray, study and test their
aspirations for the priesthood.
