I think a man and a woman should
choose each other for life, for the simple reason that a long life with
all of its accidents is barely enough time for a man and a woman to
understand each other and to understand is to love..
- William Butler
Yeats
Although having a Catholic wedding is a very important step in
creating a marriage, it is not the only thing needed to keep the covenant of
marriage healthy and strong. The sacramental moment of the wedding ceremony is
designed to mark the sacred gift and task of married life as it is lived out in
both good times and bad.
As a couple, both husband and wife must
devote a great amount of love, energy, and time to their marriage. They must
seek constantly, both as a couple and as individuals, to find new ways to
appreciate each other and grow their relationship. One of our office's main
priorities is to assist couples in finding programs and other resources to help
them continue to deepen their love for and commitment to one another and
God.
The links on this page serve as your
connecting point to the resources you and your spouse may need. Following
them you can: check out local diocesan programming; explore regional and
national enrichment resources; or experience a word of spiritual comfort and
challenge concerning marriage from one of our diocesan priests.
