Legislative Advocacy
The Diocese of Brooklyn, like the other six dioceses and one Archdiocese in the State of New York, plays an active role in shaping public policies. Its Catholic Charities and Family Life offices, in particular, advocate for laws and regulations that will foster the common good, advance justice and promote respect for human life. Each year the Diocese brings more than 100 Catholics to Albany to lobby their legislators in our state's Capitol.

Now, you too, can join with thousands of others from the Diocese of Brooklyn and with Catholics throughout New York State who are working for justice in our society to promote the values important to our faith.  Together, we can speak out in support of the poor and vulnerable, the sick and the elderly, the unborn, families and children. Through the Catholic Advocacy Network of New York State, you can stay informed about key legislative issues and strengthen the Catholic voice.
