One of our primary goals is to work with the Bishop, our chief
catechist, by
promoting life-long learning and excellence in religious education in our
culturally diverse Diocese. We are witnesses of Jesus and we strive to make
disciples for Jesus.
We constantly
communicate with religious education administrators, pastors, principals, youth
ministers, and coordinators of RCIA so that we can respond to their needs. We
offer a Faith Formation Curriculum program that provides for total parish
religious education – training parish leaders, offering ongoing catechist
formation, and providing programs for Parish Catechists, Youth Ministers, RCIA
Catechists and Catholic School Teachers.
In order to unify our Diocesan efforts toward total Catholic
education, we collaborate with the Offices of the Superintendent of Schools,
Liturgy, and other Diocesan agencies. We also collaborate with regional and
national groups with similar concerns and cooperate with the Diocesan education
Commission to serve as a resource in all areas involving Religious
Education.
