The Brooklyn Diocese Drug Abuse Prevention
Program, also called the Program for
the Development of Human Potential
(PDHP), is the substance abuse prevention program for
the Catholic schools and parishes in Brooklyn and Queens. It began in
the mid-1970s working with high school students. In 1980, the program expanded
its "universal" prevention services to the elementary schools.
The program provides educational services,
short-term individual and group counseling, assessments and crisis counseling in
the schools. At our field offices in Brooklyn and Queens, we offer family
therapy services at a sliding scale fee.
For more information
about any of these programs, please contact one
of our offices.
