Mindful of the paradox of leadership in the
church - those called to the lead are to be
servants of all (Mark 10:42-44) - the
bishop guides the people God has entrusted
to him with humility. His three ministries
- teaching, sanctifying and governing -
converge in a life of spiritual intimacy
with people of God in his diocese. As
Christ says, "I am the good shepherd, and i
know mine and mine know me" (John 10:14).
As shepherd, the bishop is called to know
his people, to teach and to lead them to
Christ in the spirit of truth and love. |
