On January 18th, 1996, Bishop Thomas V. Daily officially launched "Alive in Hope," a visionary $50 million capital and endowment campaign with the purpose of "renewing, reinforcing and revitalizing our parishes, and preparing the Church of Brooklyn and
Queens for the next century."

The campaign was greeted with exceptional generosity that began with 16 pilot parishes representing a cross-section of the Diocese by ethnic diversity, financial resources and geographical location.

Now, six years later, the Diocese of Brooklyn extends to each and every parishioner our heartfelt congratulations, best wishes and deep appreciation for what has become a truly extraordinary accomplishment – to be able to announce that the Campaign is now over $67 million.

We have not only reached our original goal, we have exceeded it by almost 35%!
