Most
of our new materials originate from an office or parish in
the Diocese rather than from individuals or other groups.
However, we do from time to time accept other submissions
consistent with our mission of caring for the records of the
Catholic Church in the Diocese of Brooklyn.
If you have records, family papers, photographs, or artifacts
in your possession which you think may be of interest to the
Diocese of Brooklyn Archives, please contact the Archives
to find out if the item(s) fall within its collecting policy.
If we determine that the material is of interest and that
we wish to acquire the material, you may print out the Deed
of Gift form and return it to us with the item to be donated.
A Deed of Gift is the formal means to transfer ownership of
materials to an archival repository. This document makes clear
that you are transferring to the archives the physical custody
and, if desired and appropriate, the intellectual property
rights to the material.
