The Archives
seeks to promote an understanding of the origins, aims, and goals of the Diocese as reflected in the workings
of the official diocesan offices, agencies, consultative bodies, and institutions. This includes sacramental
records as well as mundane items, such as property transfers and genealogical data.
To Collect
Although our main function is to serve the administrative
needs of the Bishop and the Diocese, we also seek to selectively
collect papers of individuals and records of organizations
engaged in work reflective of the Catholic Church in the
Diocese. If you have items to submit, please view our submissions
page.
Preserve
We are available to assist the parishes of the Diocese with
their archival records and the preservation of their history.
To see the types of files we preserve, please view our holdings
page.
Make available
Our office actively promotes the history of the Diocese
and its parishes through exhibits, publications, and other
media. We also handle hundreds of requests a month from
people interested in our collections. If you have a request,
please view our using the
archives section.
