Episcopal Vicar For Religious
The Office for the Episcopal Delegate for Religious serves as the Bishop’s representative in most ordinary matters dealing with the religious communities within the Diocese of Brooklyn. Religious Orders (Institutes of Consecrated Life), Communities (Societies of Apostolic Life), and Secular Institutes all contribute to the spiritual life and ministry of the Diocese, through the presence, prayer, and labor of many Sisters, Brothers, and priests.

Photo of Sister Maryann Lopiccolo, SCSr. Maryann Lopiccolo, SC, is the Episcopal Delegate for Religious. She publishes the monthly "Bits and Pieces" newsletter, which is distributed to each community of Religious in the diocese. An events calendar is also available.

The Office of Episcopal Delegate for Religious sponsors a yearly celebration in honor of religious observing jubilee anniversaries (25, 50, or 75 years of profession). See the Photo Gallery for pictures from last year’s celebration.

Anyone interested in exploring the possibilities of a religious vocation, should contact the diocesan Vocations Director’s office, for information on any of the religious communities in the diocese.
