NUMBER ACCEPTS ABUSE REPORTS
The diocese of Brooklyn maintains a 24-hour toll-free telephone number for
persons to call if they wish to report that as children they were sexually
abused by a member of the clergy or an employee of the diocese, parishes
and institutions.
The phone line is (888) 634-4499.
The diocese will report the abuse tot he District Attorney of Kings or
Queens, depending on where it took place, and will advise the caller to do
the same.
The person receiving the call will also inform Bishop DiMarzio and the
diocesan Victims Assistance Coordinator, Sister Ellen Patricia Finn,
O.P.
The Dominican Sister coordinates a process for providing immediate
pastoral care for individuals who may have been victims of inapproapriate
behavior.
