PARISHIONERS ANSWER CALLS FOR ASSISTANCE
The proceeds of four national collections taken in the parishes of Brooklyn and Queens in March and April exceeded $600,000, according to results announced by the Diocese this week.
Based on reports submitted by parishes through early July, parishioners gave $156,404 to the Black and Indian Missions collection March 4-5 and $162,349 to the Catholic Relief Services collection March 25-26.
In the following month, parishioners contributed $185,782 to the Good Friday Holy Land collection (April 14) and $138,123 to the Catholic Home Missions Appeal on April 29-30.
