ACCEPT BUSINESS PLANS
                         FOR THREE SCHOOLS

Three parochial schools have met a May 31 deadline to devise a business plan that will enable them to enroll students for the 2005/2006 school year.

St. Finbar’s School in Bath Beach, St. Virgilius School in Broad Channel and St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr School in Ozone Park were among 26 schools that were part of a reorganization of elementary schools in Brooklyn and Queens that was announced in February.

Later, the pastors, principals and members of the three school communities sought permission to develop a plan that would allow the schools to function in September, if enrollment and financial goals were achieved.

Dr. Thomas Chadzutko, the Superintendent of Schools in the Office of Catholic School Support Services, said Tuesday that the schools had reached their goals and would continue registering students for the new school year.

A fourth school, Sacred Hearts-St. Stephen’s in Carroll Gardens, also submitted a business plan, but a final determination on its acceptance was still under consideration.
