FATHER HIMES SPEAKER ON SESQUICENTENNIAL
Father Michael J. Himes, professor of theology at Boston College, will deliver the first of two sesquicentennial addresses that will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Diocese of Brooklyn when he speaks at the Immaculate Conception Center in Douglaston Sunday, April 6, at 4:30 p.m.
A priest of the Brooklyn Diocese, Father Himes will reflect on the significance of the anniversary from the perspective of an historical theologian.
The second address, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 19, will be presented by Dolores R. Leckey, a Brooklyn native who is the former executive director of the Secretariat for Family, Laity, Women and Children of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Both talks are being coordinated by the Pastoral Institute.
