Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio has announced the appointment of Annmarie Fahey as director of the Office of Human Resources of the Diocese of Brooklyn, effective Feb. 2.

She succeeds Michael J. Monahan, the first director of the office, who assumed a similar post in the Diocese of Rockville Centre last November.

Ms. Fahey, who was the assistant director, had been serving as the acting director since Mr. Monahan’s departure. She is a resident of Bayside.

As assistant director, Ms. Fahey helped develop human resource policies and procedures affecting more than 6,000 diocesan employees.

In announcing the appointment, Bishop DiMarzio said Ms. Fahey’s experience and dedication to the work of the Human Resources Office “will be a great asset to the Diocese, and to its employees.”
