MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE
RESOURCE CENTER
The FXM Pastoral Resource Center seeks to support
teaching, study, and research in all areas of theology and
religious studies, ongoing faith formation, lay leadership
formation, respect life issues, pastoral care of the sick and
dying, as well as marriage ministry.
Currently, it is used by the employees, seminarians, DREs,
deacons, priests in the parishes, retired priests, and students
in the pastoral formation program. The FXM Pastoral Resource
Center is open from 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday. In
addition, there are numerous requests for information that are
handled by phone or email.
The media collection is fairly large and consists of 780 videos,
404 audios, and 164 music cassettes and CDs for a total of 1348
items. Included in this total is the Bereavement Collection of
30 VCRs and 15 cassettes.
Over 60 publications are currently available including many
religious newspapers. The collection includes over 40,000 books
most of which are in the areas of Philosophy, Theology, and
Religious Studies.
Four new PCs running WindowsXP were recently added and they are
all internet ready. Headsets are available for quiet study when
playing DVDs or CDs from the collection.
A special area is set aside for Religious Educational samples
which are provided and updated by the vendors. The DREs and
catechists use this area and some of them have come in to use it
to access and revise their programs.
