Becoming a Catholic - RCIA
The Diocese of Brooklyn has a vibrant and intercultural Rite of
Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). The formal title for the
program through which people who are not Catholic can join the
Church and receive sacraments. A joint committee of the
catechumenate and Liturgy offices sponsor workshops and offer
training for RCIA directors. To find out more about RCIA,

meet the needs of different cultures. Sr. Alice Michael offers
adult classes in Scripture and faith formation in order to help
all participate in our faith community. She also advocates for
bilingual services and meetings where appropriate. For more
information contact our office.
